Gamedaily has posted a preview of the game: There are a plethora of miscellaneous features in the game that are going to seriously enhance your gameplay experience, two of which are material penetration and the ability to ricochet bullets. Digital Illusion's goal with material penetration (aside from providing us with the most realistic experience possible) is to teach players the difference between cover and concealment. In other words, in the past (and nine times out of ten in other games), all you had to do to find cover was to just get behind something, anything in fact. But in Battlefield 2, you'll find yourself in situations where the material in front of you just isn't strong enough to withstand a barrage of bullets, and if you don't know what's safe and what isn't, you'll be dead quickly. BF2 has been pushed back for April-June. Battlefield 2, the upcoming next game in the multiplayer shooter franchise, has been pushed back from a March release to a release in EA's first fiscal 2006 quarter (April-June 2005). Likewise the next console Medal of Honor title will also be released in the fiscal 2006 first quarter 2006 time period. Personally I think the longer the better game will get out.. Rumours were going on about it..and finally happened. EA buys Dice: The acceptance period for EA's offer to the shareholders of DICE, made on November 15, 2004, expired on January 20. Shareholders with a total of 3,235,053 shares in DICE(1), including Bonnier & Bonnier AB and DICE employees with significant shareholdings, have accepted EA's offer. This corresponds to 32.0% of the outstanding capital and votes in DICE. In addition to the above-mentioned offer, EA has acquired 898,264 shares in the market corresponding to 8.9% of the capital and votes in DICE. TotalBF2 has put an interview with the lead designer of BF2 from a swedish site (BF2.se) When we come to game modes, Conquest is there for sure, but what happened to the CTF?
We are looking into it, but we have noticed that with the squads and the commander you get an enormous number of different settings to play. To this day it's only Conquest that is 100% sure to be shipped with the game, and Co-op of course. If you play with squads and commander or not it becomes a totally different game. Gameinformer has a hands on preview of the Close Combat - First to Fight...more an more previews are coming out..as the game is heading for release in March. The moment you fire up Close Combat: First To Fight you're given a healthy dose of reality. The world is a dangerous place. Enemies lurk around every corner and even the most unassuming environment can become a veritable deathtrap. But, even the most dangerous situations can be tackled with the right tools. First To Fight, while a video game, is also bound for use by the U.S. Marines for use as a training tool for their own troops. First to Fight Multiplayer |

Gamespot and ign have posted hands on previews of the multiplayer aspect of the Close Combat-First to Fight game. At this point, the multiplayer in Close Combat looks very good, and it should provide the combination of realism and action that shooter fans crave. The game itself is in the final stages of development, and we should see it ship sometime in March. In co-op, which will be available online, offline in splitscreen, and feature all the single-player missions, you'll be in a fireteam of four players and can make your own clans. It's cool to see Destineer cater to the co-op fans, and the depth of multiplayer definitely shows that Bungie touch. Read both previews on our forums |
