BF2 News

There is a new interview of a Dice developer over in battlefield central.

Q: Will a player still be punished if his team mates run over there mines? If there still will be a team kill will there be a better system for alerting the team of mines.

A: If Friendly Fire is turned on, then yes, there is the possibility of being punished if your landmine kills a teammate.  However, the teammate can forgive you - which means you don't get punished.  We have a system in which players will see a big red icon on their screen when they are near a teammate's explosive.

BF2 Preview from Games Domain

Games Domain has posted a preview for BF2.

Battlefield 2 has some polish that still needs attending -- framerate and vehicle weight issues, mostly -- but even when these cropped up, they didn't mar our experience one bit. This is engaging stuff, and gives an absorbing sense of fighting a real, coordinated battle (it also makes one give thoughtful pause to what real soldiers are facing every day, despite its deliberate politics-free presentation).
