Gamespot has posted some interesting information about the maps in BF2. It is interesting to see all the 3 versions for 16, 32 and 64 players. I was particularly happy to see that pleantly of urban actions is there. Read the whole review in Gamespot if you want to see the maps, or on our forum just for the text version. |

Gamespot and Gamespy have posted their view of Escalation. They are scoring it 7.5/10 and 3.5/10. The result is often less teamwork in battles that look ridiculous and sound like a motocross track on Saturday night. Joint Operations has done a wonderful job of presenting moderately realistic tableaus of modern warfare. It's an immersive and convincing game in which you can't help but think of real situations like Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia. But now you can't help but think of a Steve McQueen riding his little motorcycle to Switzerland in The Great Escape. Only now there are hundreds of him. You have to wonder what the thinking was, but I suspect it involved someone who's been watching too many Chuck Norris movies. Read both reviews on our forum |

A new preview and very interesting information plus a few screenshots and 2 new videos over in NorthernBrigade (originally found from Digitalgrenade) I was quite please with the realistic features, like ricochet, penetration and very impressed with the squad structure and commander's function. Gives u a feeling of mixed RTS with FPS....also I liked the ingame voice program were squad leaders can communicate with the commander and the other squad leaders...and with their own squad...I also liked the fact of accumulating points on a global system and getting offered wider selection of guns..and higher positions....the only questions is, are they gonna have only their own ranking servers like Nova? Another thing i liked was the bullet spread being different for each gun and that the mg u have to go prone in order to be accurate Things that concerned me was the comments about the player animation being CS/Quake3 style.....player animation in my opinion is maybe the biggest contributor to how arcade a game is... will should shortly see....find the whole review on our forum |

Close Combat preview from IGN |

Another Close Combat-First to Fight preview in IGN. This time the preview is on an earlier stages of the game. The Destineer-developed game is, in essence, a reverse Tom Clancy first-person shooter, in which you take the lead and your team is automatically trained to cover your six. In short, the game is looking pretty dang good, and we have reason to believe now. Before, we were just kind of taking the developer's word on things, but now the build is actually coming together and it feels playable and fun. The key factor being fun. This could be quite a fun game online. Oh yes, indeed. We'll have more shortly. Read more here |
