As you have probably noticed front page is not updated very often. The is because all the news are posted on the FORUMS in each game's category, along with other categories, pc help-online gaming being one of them. |

It's been a while since we have updated the first page. No major news apart from a few bits and bobs over BF2 game, and the fact that OFP2 is going to be in E3. Head over to our forums for the latest news. |

This decision was not an easy one. We did not want to disappoint the loyal Ghost Recon fans, but we did not want to risk releasing a final product that did not meet their high expectations. With the launch of Ghost Recon 3 planned for Winter 2005, significant human resources were needed to ensure the quality of the future instalment of the series, thus potentially jeopardizing the quality of either Ghost Recon 2 PC or Ghost Recon 3. Taking into account their close release dates, and the fact that we felt the third opus would be a much more satisfying and evolved gaming experience, we were forced to conclude that it was in the interest of gamers for us to cancel the PC version of Ghost Recon 2. But Ghost Recon 3 on PC will hit shelves the fourth quarter of 2005, so the wait won't be long, and will definitely be worth it. |

Boomtown has released a Q&A with DICE regarding BF2. Nothing new but a few new bits and pieces. [Boomtown] Will there be per pixel hit detection? It was mentioned very early in development, and I have not heard anything since. It would suck if we had the old hit boxes, where you can't even shoot through someone's legs...
[DICE] You can shoot through people's legs. We have spent considerable cycles on improving the ‘thru the gun' experience, e.g. shooting a rifle in-game. Read the whole interview on our forums: |

AA Q-Course due in May - The end of spam? |
|
Gamespot has a preview of AA Q-Course next significant update for AA. Very interesting stuff in there which might (?) end the rambo style gameplay and the spam. According to Bossant, the Q Course will enhance the replayability of America's Army, thanks to random events. One of the problems inherent in the current version of America's Army, as well as other online first-person shooters, is that since each match starts with essentially the same parameters, it's possible for the gameplay to boil down to patterns, because players already know from experience where the other team starts and what direction they will come from. The new maps in the Q Course will support features such as random spawn locations, so teams will start in different positions; random objectives, so that the goal and location in each mission will change; random extraction points, so players won't know where to go until they locate and seize an objective, such as a hard drive with special information on it; and random non-player characters, which is another term for civilians. In addition to having random events on these new levels, the team is looking to see whether it can retrofit existing levels with random events to change the way they play.
